Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Been pretty busy the last few weekends, and the next few will be pretty full too.

Madison was last weekend and we got to see/stay with Amy and Michael and JonnyD came up for a vist as well. I've been meaning to get up there the last few years, and we finally managed to make it work.

We played lots of games, and had the chance to see the city a bit.

This last weekend was a weekend at home with mom and dad. Saturday night was a going away party for Mark, Jon's old Roommate moving to MI with a job promotion. That was a fun night hanging out with Mark, Crystal, Jon, Amy, Michael, and the Arnie's and Jon's friend Peach. We stayed out too late which was great (I was dumb and left my small camera there) Saturday Day was a small fight/arguement about me not having a masters Degree yet and how I am wasting time because Masters and Education are so important. While I value education, I do not value a masters for the sake of a masters. Especially just to have one in anything. Its about as meaningful as certifications in computing. As in, they are great, but i've cleaned up 3 networks run into the ground by MCSE's.

Anyway, so we got through that discussion again. Sunday went ok for me for the most part. My sister is having some work issues, wants advice but then doesnt want it. My mom talks to her about how to handle email and computing issues (a woman who's sent 4 emails in her life) and Dad doesnt quite understand what the problem is. Also there were major happenings with some things with the family that were not to be talked about. Oh no, not just publicly, i mean I'm not allowed to know. My dad has a different car, and when I asked about it the conversation was shut down. We dont talk about things with parents. That is not respectful, but we get to have an earful. {sigh} anyway, what was I saying?

Oh yeah, some friends may be comming for a visit next weekend, which is the weekend before we head out to New Orleans. I hope that will be fun. Im a bit nervous about a 16hr Train ride. Mostly in the feeling trapped sense. And with no new pod casts from The Speil.

Yeah I should comment on that. One of Hannah's and my favorite Boardgame Podcasts is The Spiel. 2 guys from Indy who do a pretty good job with news, reviews, and discussions. I also like the Dice tower, but Hannah doesnt like them so much. In either case, if you are interested in games at all, the spiel is good.

On a similar note, I am going to have to find some things to listen too. I think talking would work better than music for the longer stuff. I've tossed audio book(s) around, but also on WGN 720AM in chicago, late Sat they were doing ":new" radio dramas of "old" Twilight Zone episodes. i mgiht try to find some of thoes, or other radio drama stuff. Might be kinda fun. Or other podcasts about stuff. Dont know what yet.

Anyway, thats the update thus far,..

I wouldn't say I don't like the Dice Tower guys, but I just don't like them as much as the Spiel guys. The Spiel guys make every game they review sound great.
